about lightly

Hi, I'm Bryana. Lightly is my creative studio, a home for paintings, writing, and thoughtful experimentation. Part archive, part living document.

I paint intuitively, usually beginning with no real plan and following color, texture, and feeling until something reveals itself. Alongside painting, I write poetry and essays inspired by what I'm learning, questioning, and living through.

I'm interested in creativity as a way of self inquiry. The work often circles emotion, relationships, identity, and the tension between dark and light.

Before fully stepping into my own creative practice, I spent over a decade in tech leading production and operations for creative teams. I found myself craving a more personal way of creating. Something less driven by performance and outcomes, more rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and presence.

I'm also the author of Lightly, a coffee table book featuring a decade of poetry and artwork. My formal training is in tantrik hatha yoga, yoga nidra, embodiment, and self-inquiry. Time spent in Guatemala, India, and Morocco has deepened the practice and shaped the work.

This space is a place to create, reflect, question, and pay closer attention to what makes us feel alive.
