about lightly studios

Meet Bryana, a self-taught artist and author residing in the coastal town of Manhattan Beach, California.

Inspired by the natural world, Bryana incorporates earthy tones and unique elements such as sand and limestone powder to create rich layers of texture and depth. The theme of duality—especially the interplay between darkness and light—is a central focus of her work. She views art as a way to bring the unconscious to the conscious, release emotions, and find more levity and play.

Her creative process is deeply intuitive, as she layers textures, markings, and mediums until each piece reveals itself. Experimentation is at the heart of her work—she continually explores new materials, textures, and colors, yet feels most drawn to creating subtle, calming peices that evoke a sense of balance.

In addition to her visual art, Bryana is the author of Lightly, a heartfelt exploration of the early twenties to early thirties. Lightly is a coffee table book that blends poetry and artwork created over the last decade. It offers a reflective narrative that welcomes both the dark and the light aspects of life as teachers towards Self understanding and compassion. In her free time she also studies and practices meditation and yoga and has traveled around the world to places like Guatemala, Morocco and India attending retreats and teacher trainings in pursuit of deepening her practice.

Through her art and writing, Bryana invites others to embrace creativity as a means of self-discovery, letting go, and connection with the present moment.
